  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 /3 cup WILKENS Apple Cider
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions:
Core apples and cut into eighths; do not peel. Place in saucepan with cider. Simmer, stirring often, until apples are soft. Process through food mill or press through sieve. Add cinnamon and sugar, one tablespoon full at a time, to taste. Chill. Yields about 4-1/2 cups
Note:
Red-skinned apples impart a nice rosy color to the applesauce. Our favorite applesauce is made of a mixture of several apple varieties, including Pippin, Gravenstein, McIntosh, Cortland, Baldwin, Winesap, Golden Delicious and Ida Red. Applesauce freezes well, and makes a nice frosty fruit pop for summer treats!
